Being in foster care is a unique experience for each kid—let’s approach the conversation with empathy and openness.

What do you know about being in foster care? Whatever comes to mind, let’s put that aside for now. This awesome author wrote this book about his experience in foster care—which is unique to him. We hope you’ll share his openness, curiosity, and desire to learn more about the system and what it’s like for the people in it. Let’s dive in!

Seth Brauer (he/him) goes to elementary school in Seattle, Washington. He enjoys sports, reading graphic novels, spending time with his friends, and exploring in the mountains. He encourages others to always be kind. Seth’s mom, Heather Ann, is a scientist who is passionate about tackling big challenges, coaching young athletes, and creating fun adventures. They both love spending time with family in Maine!

A New Family Favorite

This book is rooted in empathy, compassion, and understanding. It’s a family favorite for all of us! Could not recommend more for anyone who is going through or has experienced the foster care system. It would also be a great resource for anyone who works with kids in foster care.
