My 6-year old grandson loved this book. When we finished it he said to me, “Grandma I am a feminist."
This is a terrific book for all ages. I teach junior high and it’s great for them. Younger and older audiences would enjoy it as well. It’s distinctly fat-positive literature which can be hard to find. I love the unapologetic message of self-acceptance. Everyone needs more of that!!!
Loved reading this with my 7-year old granddaughter. Sparked wonderful conversations about our being White and how to be allies.
This book series is much needed and long overdue. My family, kids ages 10 and 13, both found a A Kids Book About Gratitude to be thoughtful and engaging. As a mom, I'm deeply grateful for this series and I look forward to collecting all of the books!
I know this is a kids book but it transcends age. I think this book is brilliant.
My first graders were rapt while I was reading this to them for the first time. I plan to revisit the story, talk about their experiences, and add a writing element.
This book, along with the rest in the series, are wonderful!
My anxious 8-year-old claims that he only likes books with lots of pictures, so I was a little concerned that despite the colorful and playful format, he would not engage with this book. I'm glad I took a chance with it. He found it very relatable and was willing to talk with me openly about what anxiety feels like to him.
I'm so glad I purchased this book for my granddaughter. Her father has a new job in a different state. Reading this book will help her with the trip, new school, new friends and new surroundings.
I appreciate that this book does not beat around the bush but presents the idea at a child's level. Though the topic in general is very tough and very layered and so multi-dimensional, and yet the presentation in this book is simple and not negative and depressing.
This book was an incredible resource for everyone from 6-66! I loved it and found it so relatable for so many kids today struggling with anxiety. Thank you for sharing this book with me and my classroom!
This is a wonderful and helpful book. I appreciate being able to talk about big things with my little kids in such an easy way. Thank you!
My daughter definitely understood that the anxiety the book was talking about was a feeling she had had that she couldn't identify before.
This books is beneficial for all students concerning the fear of allure and working on a developing a positive mindset!
As a teacher this is a must have book! I have used this book multiple times in my classroom and it is awesome for kids! It is written in kid friendly language and the kids can relate to it!
This is an unexpectedly creative way to tak to kids about their creativity!
Not only does this book help my son cultivate an attitude of gratitude it also helps me remember why I practice daily gratitude.
This book was very helpful in providing news words for my nine year old daughter who struggles with anxiety. She was able to read the book and liken it unto herself. It also provided some new strategies for her to try out.
This book is great! My daughter is 8 and she has adhd so she’s left out a lot. She was able to think through the scenarios in this book to help her realize where she feels safe and where she doesn’t feel so safe and that opened my eyes even. Love these books.
I bought this book for my niece and nephews! This is one of the subjects that I think even adults aren't taught about! If you don't really know how to manage your money how can you teach your kids? I love how simply it laid out the concepts behind managing your money!
I love how this book explain in a very simple, kid appropriate way but also leaves things open for discussions. I read it with my 2nd grade students and we had a great discussion throughout the entire book. Some students knew and understood the content and others were surprised to find that others were discriminated against based on the color of their skin. It was the perfect way to start and continue the conversation around racism.
I love all our Kids Book About books and this one did not disappoint. Perfect way to encourage creativity in young children!
Our 1st grade teacher recommended it and it has given us the tools we needed to start the conversation with all three of our children (8yo, 6yo, 4yo). Getting the one about Depression next!
Engaging and informational. Kids can grasp the concepts. Wish I had this book as a youngin.
I'm so glad I bought this book! It explains feminism in the simplest terms and explains why it's important for all people to be feminists!
I appreciate that it talks about racism as not something that happened before, but a way that people can act now and it is not okay. It puts it into experiences that kids can relate to and encourages them to be a part of a solution and to show empathy to those oppressed.
Reading this book with my 9 year old grand niece was a positive experience. She took in every word and declared at the end that her classmates of color are included fully. There is hope. Thank you.
My daughter read this book as soon as it arrived and has asked me to read it several times since. It really helped her to name what’s going on and to teach her some coping skills.
We all had times during our childhood of not quite fitting in. This book is a wonderful tool to help heal those places in our past.
